Noctambule: A Light Sculpture by Flos

13/08/2025

By day, the Noctambule almost disappears, like an ethereal presence blending seamlessly into its surroundings. At night, it awakens and transforms into a sculptural column of light.

Created by visionary designer Konstantin Grcic for Flos, the Noctambule is an homage to the duality between invisibility and prominence. Its name, meaning “night owl,” reflects its character: discreet in daylight, captivating when night falls.

Its modular structure is composed of transparent blown-glass cylinders, connected by aluminium rings housing integrated LED lighting.

This design allows for multiple configurations — from a minimalist floor lamp to an imposing light sculpture with multiple modules — adapting to any environment, from residential to hospitality spaces.

Its materials ensure durability, while the foot-operated dimming system allows the light to be adjusted to suit every moment and mood.

More than a lamp, the Noctambule is a visual and sensory experience: a piece of contemporary design that transforms space and interacts with architecture, reinventing the concept of lighting.
