Lisbon Design Week: QuartoSala Officially Partners with BICAchair

27/05/2025

From May 28 to June 1, QuartoSala will take part in the Lisbon Design Week circuit, unveiling two editions of the BICAchair.

The café chair, also known as the Portuguese Chair, an icon of national design and produced by BICAchair, will be showcased at QuartoSala.

From May 28 to June 1 — during Lisbon Design Week — QuartoSala’s store in Príncipe Real will premiere a limited edition of the BICAchair by Pedro Cabrita Reis, featuring an intervention by the contemporary artist Pedro Cabrita Reis. This edition is numbered, with only 25 pieces available, alongside a special edition using Paul Smith fabrics curated by QuartoSala.

The BICAchair by QuartoSala collection will have three distinct versions: the classic chair, the lounge chair, and the high stool. These come with a selection of indoor and outdoor fabrics featuring the vibrant patterns of the British designer, giving the pieces a new status and positioning in contemporary design. This collection will have exclusive representation in Portugal and Brazil.

For QuartoSala, “This partnership with BICAchair represents what motivates us most: taking design with soul, history, and purpose further. This is just the first step of a journey we want to pursue with responsibility, consistency, and cultural meaning,” say Pedro d’Orey and Clemente Rosado, partners at QuartoSala.

Alexandre Caldas, founder of the BICAchair brand, explains that “this special edition only became possible thanks to the collaboration with QuartoSala, our partner in curation and exclusive distribution in both countries.”

See the two special BICAchair editions starting tomorrow, May 28, as part of the Lisbon Design Week circuit at the QuartoSala store in Príncipe Real, 171.
